Hi Mel and Howard, just wanted to say it's been wonderful reading your blog. Being in Oz must be a real contrast to NZ! Your card arrived safely and in time for my birthday. I can't believe you managed that! Thank you so much--thoughtful as ever. Look forward to reading more updates as and when XXX Fi
Just past midnight It's May 5th (barely) here in Fitchburg, and I've just caught up to your latest postings, Mel. You are making me feel like I am right there with you and Howard, except I don't have to do any of the climbing, so well done! You are doing an amazing job capturing the trip in both your descriptions and your photos, just fabulous. Keep them coming! Ellie
Second Week Dear Friends,
Hi! Of course, we are following your fabulous trip (and getting greener with envy every entry)!!!
Continue enjoying and stay well. Sending our love to both of you, B&G
Reading your posts... My dearest mummy, I LOVE reading all about your exciting adventures across New Zealand and Australia! It is the highlight of my day...Keep it going please!
All my love to you and daddy,
Annie xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Arrowtown Although we're in Australia now and heading for the outback, Alice Springs, tomorrow morning, I hope we get more wifi somewhere so that I can post a few more photos. Lots of love to you both too. xxxxxxxx
Loving the pics We can only imagine how tiring it must be to be "on the go" for such a long stretch of time. So glad you can post once in a while, though, to give us a glimpse of your experience. I can't wait to see all of your photos and hear your stories. There will be plenty of time to fill in the gaps when you get back--no pressure! (PS. I bet you could have explored that quilt shop for HOURS!) Love to you both! xo
Fabulous pictures! What a wonderful day that must have been! You are really brave (or something!) to hang glide.
Do you think Oscar could learn to herd sheep - I asked him but he just yawned, scratched and flopped down - so maybe not?
Keep enjoying! Miss you. Much love, B&G
Hang gliding Hi Honey, so sorry I've forgotten to read the comments. Am thrilled that you like the blog and photos. Hope I can get it finished before we arrive back!
Amazing! What an incredible adventure you're on! It's such fun seeing photos and reading about what you've seen, along with the interesting background info. I especially love the pic of Daddy with the possum beard! But all the photos are wonderful. And I laughed out loud at your funny description of the local accent--spot on! Love you both. xo
hello! Hello Dear Friends, Really enjoying your blog, the photos are great. All that camera practice is paying off!
My computer crashed and I lost most of everything, but Gus rebuilt it (Ithink) so I can at least get online. If you get a chance to resend me your mail address I'd appreciate it (no rush, I think you get these comments). Love you both! G&B
Extremely sad Going through the rubble with you shows us the extent of the devastation that hit the beautiful Christchurch so hard in 2011...
I used to live in Russell, Bay of Islands and though I was in England at the time of the earthquake, I cried when I saw the cathedral in ruins.
But like you say, Kiwis are resilient and very strong so they will overcome this tragedy !

So exciting!! We're so excited for you and this marvelous adventure that awaits. I can't wait to read more about it and see some photos of the "land down under." Loving your blog, Mum. Nicely done! xo
Thanks so much Honey. Just found the messages tonight. It's taking me a while to learn how it all works. Hope to add a map later on. So glad you like it so far. Lots of Love, Marmee
Over five years ago and 78,000 miles later, we are still so enthused about traveling through North America, that we’ll continue as long as possible. Our home is a lovely 36’ 5th wheel trailer pulled by “Rex”, our F350 one ton pick-up truck.
We’ve had some amazing trips, spent months with our families who live thousands of miles apart, made wonderful friends and seen spectacular scenery from the east coast to the west. There’s so much to see and do that we can’t stop now.
But, ahead of us a different kind of adventure awaits; a two month tour of New Zealand and Australia. ... full info
