Jackies turn to pose for the camera
Sat market at Yungaburra 12ks from Atherton.Very attractive tableland village with 18 heritage buildings, established in 1890 many of the buildings date from then.Huge market with all the usual country style stalls.A very pleasent journey from Atherton through rolling hills and passing fields of growing corn,we stocked up with some vegies from the market and meat from the local butcher

The all familiar village pub was in full swing by 11am with live music attracting the many visitors to the village ,including yours truely.A stroll around the village gave an insight into the past heyday of this village which was a stop over for miners and settlers heading for the tin and gold mines further west

Some local walks take you to a few interesting spots including a small stream where a Platypus resides, mainly seen at dusk and sunrise.A short drive or fairly long walk takes you to the Curtain Fig Tree, the tablelands most famous tree, all told we spent a very pleasent morning and early afternoon at Yungaburra, before heading back to our C/P which is just outside Atherton
