Last day on the tablelands,so decided to go to Ravenshoe a village about 50k from Atherton, where a Sunday market was advetised ,being a sunday the town was closed, except for the information centre.Ravenshoe's claim to fame is it's mining history and it is the highest town in Queensland at 920mts above sea level.Perched on top of and extinct volcano called windy is is a wind farm of 20 turbines supplying electricty to over 3.500 homes.

The scenery is wonderfull with rolling hills and fields of growing corn, with some cattle fields as well.

Well the market turned out to be a bit of a let down after Yongaburra, just two lanes of stalls about 30 all told, mind you I did buy some curry leaves.

Whilst in the area we visited several more waterfalls and an extinct volcano rim.The waterfalls were magnificant and there were two swimming holes if you were brave enough to bare the cold icy mountain water,(we forgot our togs),several backpackers to advantage of these waterholes.

The weather has been kind to us with only a few scattered showers but tonight is forcast for rain, we head off tomorrow on the Savanna Way, looking to stop at Mt supprise on our way
