We are starting to feel so at home that we decided to do a few chores today only they weren't chores for us. After breakfast and smoko which is Rob and Amanda's term for meeting to have a coffee, the morning ritual, we went food shopping then Steve helped Amanda with sprucing up the barbeque and they then both got stuck in to the gardening. I then joined them. We got a bit carried away enjoying doing something we haven't done for at least 3 months. Steve's ankle is still giving him a bit of gip so didn't want to do the bike ride, so together with Harry and Lea, Amanda went off for a bike ride, Rob went fishing and we spent the afternoon gardening, very therapeutic especially as it was so appreciated. Harry had bought venison and Rob cooked it a la Jamie Oliver. We thought we didn't much care for venison but this was unlike anything tasted before, so tender and delicious. We then watched a film or started to before we had a power cut so after chatting by the light of Rob's gas lamp we had an early night. Next morning after smoko we took ourselves off to Arrowtown which is just outside Queenstown. It is so pretty situated next to a river all the shops and houses seem to be made of wood panelling and it used to be a gold mining town, but now a tourist trap with very nice shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. You can do lots of walks from here but Steve wasn't in the mood so we went shopping. After sales shopping we sampled one of the famous pies from the Bakery and they well deserve their fame the beef and mushroom was light and flaky and the filling yummy. It's no wonder I am putting on weight. On to Queenstown and more shopping what has got in to Steve? Queenstown is quite busy but lots more shops than anywhere we have been. We stopped for tea and a cake then back to Wanaka stopping for ice cream for pud tonight. Rob and Amanda cooked carbonara and we finished watching the film we started 'A Law Abiding Citizen' a bit gory in places but it kept your attention.
