White rock Beach
Hello again,

Sunday Dec.9 2012.

Summer here. beautiful day at the coast. About a 100 miles east of Wellington.

Very uninhabited, only a scattering of sheep stations (ranches). Sun all day, not a

very windy day. (Yeah!). It took all day, as the road started out in the year 2012 and

digressed to the 1920's. The days are long here in the Southern Hemisphere.

Staying light till way past 9:00 pm. You need to be very watchful for sheep on

The small roads, (narrow gravel twisty) not the smartest creatures on the planet.

I could say something political here but I won't.

Tomorrow is our last full day on the north island. We ferry across to the south

for a quite different look. Bigger island but less populated. At least by humans.

We will me looking for the Merino sheep. They are the wool producers that the

fine wool garments are made from. (Yes Tom I am still looking for a black sheep

For you). The Merino have horns that the sheep blow when their wool is ready!!!

NOT! They do have horns similar to our Big Horn Sheep. So I should be able to

spot them quite easily.

Well, I have to go now.

Here are some images from Sunday (click on them to enlarge.)

White rock black beach

Great pics!I liked the bike pic, one of many worldwide! Also the black beach looks awesome! Our weather is cold but no snow for us yet. Talked to Angie today and they got their first snow this morning and were so excited! Kids can't wait to make a snowman! Did dinner and cards at Elaine and John's with Ann and Mike on Fri. Last night did the Valley Symphony with chorus Christmas in Delta and was just beautiful and put us all in the spirit! Love and have a great week! Sharon

Sheep horns
Great to hear from you folks. The picture of the 57 Chevy (going the wrong way) looks like a typical Midwest USA town. We got 16 inches of heavy wet snow over the last 36 hours. I just about melted the tires of my 4x4 pushing it. Anyway, I liked the desert picture also and am looking forward to seeing you blow one of those sheep horns the next time we meet up.
