After 12 hours on the plane and many movies later (with the only really eventful thing happening was Gillian thinking she had got locked in the toilet!) we touched down in Bangkok city!

31 degrees at 7 in the morning and I was in heaven... Gillian on the other hand was in sweaty hell!
We got in a taxi bound for our hostel and so began the funniest most dangerous taxi trip of my life! Flying in and out between cars...then the taxi man decided to make his own lane of traffic which consisted of half the outside lane and what was a sort of a small hard shoulder.. at this stage I actually thought I had better put on my seatbelt..and discovered it didn't have any...welcome to Thailand!

We arrived at the hostel, chilled out for a while and then went exploring. We are just around the corner from the infamous Koh San Road. It is Awesome! Lots of stalls selling everything including rip off Abercrombie, Billabong... You name it! 40 thai baht= 1 euro. I absolutely love the food stalls-everything is cooked right in front of you and is delicious. It also costs nearly nothing. You get a really good meal for 40 baht (€1). People are constantly trying to sell you things. It's great for boosting your confidence though- 'Hey you, pretty lady, you beautiful, you buy tshirt' haha. My most used phrase since arriving 'No thank you'.

The place is full of people from every country and last night we ended up staying out and meeting all these people! It is a crazy place and music is constantly being pumped out of the bars and people just dance in the street.. When Gagnam Style came on, the thai staff in one bar went onto the street and started doing the whole dance!

We were back up on Koh San road today. We were going to buy some of the tshirts. The majority of Tshirts cost about 100 baht but there were 2 we really wanted which cost 300 baht each. I decided for the both of them I was going to give the stall owner 400 baht and no more! I was in bargaining mode, all ready for the challenge of haggling ahead. I told the man I was going to give him 400 and his reply was...... OK! I was disappointed to say the least. Going back tomorrow to start at a rediculously low price 😉

Tomorrow we are going to visit some of the main attractions away from Koh San Road-and we then get the over-night sleeper train up north to Chang Mai!
