Bondi
Guess who is surfing at Bondi? Over the last two days we have toured many of the bays and beaches around the lovely Sydney harbour. Firstly it was Manly on a fabulously sunny day - beautiful stretch of sand and lots of surfers. Yesterday with Fiona (McNab) fellow Dumfer, resident of Sydney, as our tour guide we toured many of the bays - we went from Watsons to Bondi, Rose to Garlie and many more on the way. At Garlie we saw a double rainbow and a wallabee. She showed us the very many green spaces that Sydney has - Centennial Park where we had mussels and rose wine in a glass walled restaurant and the Royal National Park which covers a vast area where we visited the strange little settlement of Bundeena. We finished off a lovely day in Coogee where we were treated by Fiona and husband Sandy to a lovely meal including a taste of kangaroo steak. Again thanks to having local contacts we have been able to see sights which we would not otherwise have done. Today sees us off for a life on the ocean wave hopefully with some degree of luxury assuming our 'stateroom' is actually bigger than our cabin was
on the train across Canada!
