The next day of diving didn't happen at all. We headed out on the boat and spent an hour getting to the dive sight. The boat didn't even slow down, but spun round and headed back to the marina. The waves were too big and the current to strong to go diving!

To catch up for lost time the next day we did three dives. Rob being a really good instructor didn't worry too much about the theory once under the water and we had three really good dives taking photos of everything that moved. Unfortunately the digital camera that I was using was not very good and I missed loads of great shots because of it. By the end of the third dive I was now an Advanced Open Water Diver, Hooray!!

Now being totally hooked on diving I signed up to go out the very next day to the Murion Islands.
These islands lie about 2 hours off the coast of Exmouth and have some amazing dive sights. We spent 8 hours on the boat in total, did two dives and some snorkeling. The first dive took us through some lovely coral and loads of caves and swim through’s. My buddy for the day was this American guy that was nothing but a pain in the arse. While everyone else was swimming through the caves at about 14 metres he was floundering around at 6 metres. This makes staying in a buddy pair quite difficult. Luckily Rob who was our guide noticed this pillock and let me go off with the other guys while he watched him float around aimlessly.
When it was time to ascend, instead of making a slow safe assent he bolted for the surface and nearly knocked himself out of the bottom of the boat.

The food on board was plentiful and really really nice and the whole day was a great experience.

Still not wanting to leave I booked one last dive on the Navy Pier. This old metal structure had not been used for years but still belongs to the Navy. We drove out to the pier and the only way to get into the water is a 20 foot jump while wearing all your scuba gear!!
Once down there the fish life was amazing. Schools of thousands of fish surrounding you from every angle.

Back on dry land again was this going to be my last dive in Exmouth??

Is there anything this man can't do?
Phil, You never cease to amaze me - if you've got the time, why not try and get your pilot's license while you're on a roll? Well done, sounds like you're still having a whale of a time. Regards, Geoffrey, Andrea, Megan, Jodie and Linus
