This is my second try for today. I have already completed our activities for today, but the computer went out and I lost it all, again.

We are now at a KOA campground in Petaluma, CA. Last night we stayed at a California State Park, which we had to find at night in the dark and could barely see the sign. The office was closed so we went in and found our own spot. Luckily the place was nearly empty. The roads were narrow and tree lined and it was a very dark night. We pulled into a spot the best we could as the camper was really too large for these state campground sights, and of course there were no hookups. It was an extremely dark night and we were all tired out from a long day's drive through the Redwood Forrest. We treated ourselves to a real western cowboy dinner, hot dogs and beans. It was too late and dark to set up the campsite, so we ate at the picnic table, with the camper headlights as mood lighting. This particular area was way too woodsy and dark for my taste, so immediately after eating I jumped back into the camper for safety. As there was not much else to do we went to bed early, 11:00.

After waking at around 8:00 am we quickly dressed and got back on the road to head towards SanFrancisco and Sonoma Wine country. We passed a winery sign and decided to pull in for our first wine tasting. The place was way too crowded and our patience was less than it could have been so we decided to move on to another place. Unfortunately the long, winding lane we took to get into the winery area did not have a place to turn the RV around, so the guys had to manuever the camper backwards down this same long, winding lane, which by the way, had drop-offs on either side. I found this to be a very scary venture and just hyperventilated and covered my eyes. Eventually we made it back to the main road, and decided to wait until we rented a car to try any more wine adventures.

We got to the KOA around three and checked in and ordered a rental car. By this time it was too late to go wine tasting so we decided to put it off until tomorrow, after we check out SanFrancisco. I had laundry to do so Phil and Barbara were going off to visit one of Barb's relatives out here and Ken and I walked down to the laundry at the campground. When we got back the camper was locked (of course) and we had to use our key to get in, BUT, guess what, the key didnt work. We were locked out and it was getting cold out. Both our jackets and phones were locked inside the camper. What to do?? Well, we managed to open a window in the front of the RV that was big enough to get through, but it was eight feet off the ground. Ken and I pulled the picnic table over to the window, but alas it was still to high to get through the window. We then proceeded to put a cooler on the picnic table and, yeah, we could reach. Well, I am telling you now, I would have given $100 to have my camera at this time, my husband slid, slowly through the window with his legs and feet hanging out, and a funnier sight you will never see. He managed to shimmy himself slowly through the window, across the passenger seat and onto the floor. Once he was able to get up, he unlocked the door and let me in. A funnier sight you will never see. Anyway, Phil and Barb returned and we went to the Cattleman for dinner and enjoyed a great dinner.

Tomorrow is SanFran and I hope a few wineries. There are hundreds in the area.

The fun never ends. See you soon!
