We started our work day on Wednesday with our regular amount of painting and flooring, but soon a dump truck arrived and Karin's eyes lit up like a kid getting a birthday present (Happy Birthday to Michaela Martin and Campbell DeBoth btw). Almost everyone took a turn running a shovel or wheelbarrel or both! Unfortunately, no rakes were available, so we had use the shovel for both.

For those veterans of Habitat, day 3 is usually the day you hit a bit of a wall physically. Your body does a 'what the heck are you doing to me desk jockey?' While there were a few more breaks, everyone powered through and felt a sense of accomplishment!

We were rewarded with a dinner at George's home. George is the executive director of Habitat Comanesti and on the national Habitat board for Romania and 2008 winner of the Linda Fuller award, which he display proudly next to his photo album with the Pope (yes he is one of the few Catholics in Romania - most are Orthodox).

It was an outstanding experience! I could go on for pages, but in short, Gheorghe, Elena, and their daughter Georgiana were outstanding hosts, showing us the beauty of their garden, let us taste their grapes, plums, and tomatoes (all amazing) along with wood grilled meats prepared by Master Chef Vasile. Paul got a beautiful bouquet of fresh roses from the flowers lining the yard, not to mention a magnolia, peach, pear and various apple trees all a part of some outstanding wines he produces. George awarded out team with a couple of bottles of Romania wine which we will share with those from Thrivent who supported us! Noroc!

Wonderful experiences
Sounds like you are having wonderful experiences not only working on the house but meeting the people and interacting with them on a more personal level. Memories are built on things like eating at someone's home like you did. Take Care.
