2500 miles later, we reached our original destination: Yosemite Valley. Our reservations at the now infamous Signal Cabins had been changed to the tent cabins. Extra precautions were taken to keep all our belongings off the floor for fear of the hunta virus carried by mice. Camp rules also require cars and cabins be cleared of any scented objects from food to toothpaste and stored in bear-proof lockers next to each tent. A bigger problem was the dustiness of the camp grounds and hikes due to the dry weather. The fire risk was posted throughout the park as very high. On our first night, Saturday, Curry Village was packed, but Sunday evening there were few visitors. Nevertheless, our hikes to Dewey Point on Sunday and Signal Point on Monday were busy. Both trails were easy, 8 miles and 5 miles respectively, with excellent views.
