A Normal Day

My days are blurring together. I can’t remember what activities happened on which day. My days are similar. Except today I started my placement. I’m helping out in a government day care. Nothing like I thought it would be that’s for sure. I have to walk to the bus which is fifteen minutes then it takes another fifteen minutes to get to Denues I think, then I walk another fifteen to twenty minutes to reach the facility. Just getting there makes you exhausted and then the moment you walk into the door you’re greeted by six to twenty adorable Guatemalan children. Everyone wants “arriba”. The child care center is a large rectangle that’s connected to a school. The large rectangle is split into five different rooms, plus two bathrooms. One room is where the baby and toddlers are, and that’s where they stay. Well that’s where they are supposed to stay. The toddlers have learned to open the door… but everyone else runs wild! The structure for this day care is absent. Arriving there at nine we leave at twelve. Those four hours are exhausting! Of course the ride home takes twice as long cause of traffic ha. But we arrive to an already prepared lunch. I haven’t had a Guatemalan meal I haven’t liked! After dinner I decided to come to Maximo early so tell ya’ll about my day! Tonight is a house mate’s birthday so we plan on having a fiesta! I have Spanish class at four and it goes till six. I’m kept very busy haha! I’m going to talk to them about the mail system today! I remember them saying it will take up to three weeks, Snail mailJ. I’m going to try and post some pictures of my room and house. So look for those!

Much love!

Adios!
