My washing machine. I MANAGED NOT TO FLOOD THE PLACE WHILE DOING LAUNDRY!!!
I got through my first week of training! It went really well and my coworkers are amazing and awesome, and I really liked the lessons I taught. This has made me feel MUCH better about things. It was pretty scary when I was freaking out about whether or not I was going to like the job I moved across an ocean to do! The good news is that it's awesome and I really love everyone I work with. GOOD THINGS ALL AROUND. I got great feedback and I think I'm doing pretty okay! 😊

Other than working, I haven't really been doing much since I'm still B-R-O-K-E lol. However, today I went up to Tokyo and met Lauren, Tori and Rei in Shibuya for an afternoon of fun and hanging out! We ate some DELICIOUS Vietnamese food at the department store in the station, and then we went for karaoke. After that, we roamed for a bit and took some Purikura pictures (super popular photo booth pictures here) and then got some yummy baked goods before Lauren had to make her train back down south to Kyoto.

Since it was such a beautiful walk back from my station coming

How I celebrated the 4th of July!
home, I went out to take some pictures of my neighborhood. My ward is so pretty; it's pretty well-to-do and laid-back, very quiet. I really like it. I've found it takes me about 15 minutes to walk to work and about 10 minutes to get to the station, and even in the heat lately, it hasn't been bad at all. I really love this area, it's relaxing. Not at all like Tokyo with all its crowds and chaos hahaha.

I'm meeting Rei back in Shibuya tomorrow since I've got three days off and she's staying with Tori, who has school. So, we'll probably be super touristy and explore and take a bunch of pictures, like super awesome people hahaha. 😊 And tomorrow morning I am getting up to Google+ my mack slap brigade back in the states. I miss them so much!! <333

Hi Katy,
Really have enjoyed readying your blog. I didn't get up some of the pictures though??? Hard to think of you so far away. We are so dry here in Union. Have been carrying water to the flowers and veggies. I too, hang out clothes if possible. Did all the laundry of the basement bedrroms yesterday for when Steve's all get here on July 26. Gpa helped me make the beds again this morning. I have to go get a squamous cell carcinoma cut out this Friday. It is on the middle of my back!! I had never even heard of that kind of cancer. sending our love to you, Grpa and Grdma S.
