Yessss!
Tennessee welcomes us home Friday and Saturday were all Interstate 40. Just driving and driving, nothing interesting other than a higher concentration of trucks on the highway the further east we came. That is nothing new; I-40 is the main east-west trucking corridor. We stayed at two nondescript campgrounds, neither of which we would stop at again. Arkansas and Tennessee were both lush and green, but Tennessee’s roads were much better than those in Arkansas. I got the humidity I wished for and am now regretting it, as I knew I would. This morning loading the camper and this afternoon emptying the car were both sweat-producing activities. But we are very happy to be in our home, in our chairs and quite comfortable at last.
We are thankful for a safe trip. We saw beautiful sights, some new to us, others old favorites. We had good company, good food, and good weather.
Here are some statistics:
We drove 8,316 miles.
We purchased 426.424 gallons of gasoline.
We averaged 19.12 miles per gallon.
The average cost per gallon of gas was $3.887.
We stayed 36 nights in campgrounds.
The average cost per campsite per night was $26.83.
Crop Duster
in Arkansas I won’t tell you how many pictures I took, but suffice it say “more than a few.”
Thanks for going with us. We enjoyed sharing with you our experiences and pictures. Join us again next trip.
Love, Charlie and Kerry
