I havent had my laptop runnign in the past week and a bit so I appologize for my absence.
Frustration of reformatting my harddrive kicked in and I decided just to bring it in. $20 later I had an up and running laptop good as new. Yee-Haw.

Sorry, on to the good stuff. Or... well, whatever you want to call it.
Last week I met Poppy for the first time. For those of you who dont know (which is almost all of you), I ahve distant cousins in england. My little family has another branch that I barely know about. One of these family members, Poppy, is now living and working in sydney. This came as a huge surprise and excitement for me as I barely knew this family existed let alone thought of meeting time any time soon. She came out for seafood at Mark and Mikes favourite seafood restaurant and then we spent the rest of the night in our luxurious penthouse apartment. Poppy kept telling me how lucky I am to be living here. Thats the most frequent reaction of newcommers when they see 'the bachelor pad'. Anyways, it was really nice to have this visit and poppy is a really cool girl and could really hold up a conversation.

On to the weekend.... Friday night brought in Canada day as it hit midnight bring on saturday. I counted down as if we were ready to bring in the new year as we jumped on a transit bus to head back to Stanmore, (kate, my Canadian friend's house). Not the most exciting way to bring in Canada day, but some punks wer knocking Canada and gave them the old moon as they hopped off the bus. I know, stay classy san francisco. Either way, we got the butt of our argument across...

Form there we watched the german/argentina game... i know, still, not canadian at all. HOWEVER, I did drink alot with a canadian. SO I feel like I celebrated in some sort of way.

SAturday mornign I woke up with no hangover and trekked back to the train station. This was the best walk ive had in a long time. THere was no-one around, the sun was shining and I had a good 5 hours sleep after getting home at 7 in the morning. Rad man. The idea of no-one around was so relaxing after being in the city for so long. I wore my Canada Jersey all day and then headed out that night to some pub to watch England lose to portugal in penalty shoot-out. I wore my canadian socks and jersey the whole time. THis night was spent out all nigth and once again, I wasnt home until 7:30am. I made myself proud. After sleeping all day, I practiced some guitar and ate some delicious lobster chowder that Mark made special for canada day. THen it was back to bed to go back to work.

Ooh, I almost forgot, Im starting to bake. I miss my mother-made banana bread, so I looked up a recipe and made some myself. It turned out delicious and I ahve a new hobby to keep myself busy. It may be feminine, but I still feel masculine next to my flatmates with their love of Barbera Streisand and Cher.

Today at work, I received a call from head office congratulating me on my sales with the company and was told that I won a Scott gift pack (includiung jeans and a jacket) for having top sales in the Ski Department. GO me. They were very surprised when they looked to see that I have only been with the company a month.

ANd thats it for today, until next time.
