New York

Arrived in New York, as I write this it is five am local time but my body clock will not let me sleep anymore.

The journey was fine with the exception of a three hour wait at customs after which we chickened out on taking the subway into town and opted for a taxi to our hostel. A little bit more pricey but we got to see the New York skyline which is very impressive. Our taxi driver was very fond of his horn and cutting people up which was entertaining. Although he explained that "its new york and everybody drives like this" I didn't notice anybody else driving like a nutter.

The hotel is ok but I think it is in the process of being done up. Unfortunately, they have not got to our bit yet so it does have a bit of a bedsit feel to it, but it does have aircon which is useful in this heat. In addition, unknown to us they had changed the name so it took a little longer to find it , as you would imagine.

Off to watch the England game later, if we can find somwhere that has it on. No photos yet but will add some at the end of the week.
