Dear family and friends,

This is section 2 of the latest travel blog and it involves one week in LA and one week in Salvador, Brazil. SO.........We hit the frog and toad and flew out of London, only to spend 14hrs in the freezing cold airport of Rome (damnnnn you Rome and the weird people creeping around and standing over me while I pretent to sleep and then move away when I open me eyes and give you my angry look). From Rome we fly back towards france, changed plane and flew over Iceland, Canada and into the States. Alana, POaul, Jackie and Ian met back up at a hostel/motel in inglewood...near compton (gansta area!!!). The place was strait out of fear and loathing in los vegas, with wierd carpets, strange people and odd habits (We were in the middle of a god damn reptile zoo and some one feeding booze to these bloody creatures). We made day trips to Manhattan beach, Venice beach, Hollywood and Santa Monica pier and they were amazing places....Venice beach being the coolest by far. We also went across two counties to see a reggae band play and then hired cars and drove back. Two and a half hours in LA peak hour, only to drive 15-20km in distance.

We bailed from the states and flew down to Sao Paulo, jumped a plane up to Salvador. Lost Jackie and Liz in the process and then did a two hour bus ride to Bahia, our apartment for the week and our good friend francis. Not speaking the language has been a little bit of an issue but we manage to get by pretty well. Carnaval was insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It really is the biggest street party in the world and these brazilians can dance!!!!!!!!!!! We didnt take the camera out for fear of it getting stolen so sorry, no photos. The week was spent at the beach during the day and then street parties at night. So much walking and dancing. It was a sunny 35 degrees today and after a month in europe it is great to see the sun. We saw a spider monkey today as well. We were pretty stoked. Well guys I have to run. Remember: you can´t get lost if you don´t really care where your going.

peace
