Up early this morning...we can't really do anything until 10 because nothing opens until then. The major museums will be closed today because it's a Monday so it will be a day for finding the post office, doing our laundry, and eating gelato. Evita's going to overdose on it. She had it three times yesterday.
Florence is more like a small town than a city. There's a monument right outside the door of our pensione to commerorate some battle that took place there in the 1200's. I'll get a picture of it today . And a tiny little piazza. Very quaint and unamerican.
We climbed the dome of the Duomo. 463 twisting steps up and then down but it was worth it for the view!!..It still amazes me how Brunelleschi was able to accomplish building that dome in the middle ages with the tools they had.
