This is the city I studied about for almost a year. Where the renaissance was born. We're arriving on a Sunday and late because of our stop in Pisa so we won't be able to see anything today or tomorrow...museums closed on Monday...but we did get a chance to walk around. I'll tell you the truth, my first glimpse of the Duomo and Brunelleschi's dome made me cry. It's so breathtakingly beautiful. No pictures will ever do it justice. Tomorrow I'll climb the dome.
Our hostel is right in the heart of everything and we can walk everywhere. Our innkeeper is a character out of some comedy movie. So happy to see us, welcomed us to Florence...I'm sure I'll have stories about him.
We had more gelato tonight and I'm going on a search for Pepsi now while Evita up loads pictures. More tomorrow.......
