I didn't get a good shot but all the tile looked beautiful.
Friday we drove into Pavas for a plan making visit with The Eury family and to watch Maritza sing at the university. We live near the UCR western campus in San Ramon so we were excited to get to check out the big campus. The musical school was having exhibitions thru out the day to showcase their work. We got Maritza there on time and enjoyed the orchestra prior to her performance. Bill was fascinated by the fagot or bassoon players that followed the adult choir. I liked their instruments. (If the photo is of something other than a bassoon please let me know)

The drive in was a little confusing as we’d not been to the UCR campus before, the return trip was in rush hour traffic. Bill never ceases to amaze me with his driving in San Jose. You’re the best Baby! I feel the need to flatter him as I prefer not to drive in San Jose. It’s a choice, I’m happy with my choice. I’m no longer used to driving in any kind of traffic. I hold the handgrip when Bill drives over 40mph on the autopista. Driving is a different experience in Costa Rica.

There are beautiful buildings on and near the UCR campus, some with gorgeous tile work. The towns immediately surrounding the university were just like any university town in the states. All the typical shops you’d expect in a college town were there, book stores, school supplies, internet cafes, coffee shops, street cafes, bars, yes plenty of bars. The walk back to the car was reminiscent of walks around the ASU campus after football games.

After the performance, we gave the Eury’s a ride to a relative’s home in Grecia where they were spending the weekend. We neared Grecia at sunset and although it was a cloudy day the views were beautiful. Yesterday was our first experience spending time in the car with visitors. I was surprised that they didn’t seem as excited at the sites as we are. They’ve been to Costa Rica many times so perhaps the novelty isn’t there or maybe it was four children and four adults in a relatively small vehicle. Who’s to say. I know we continue to be amazed by our surroundings on a daily basis. For us, everyday is a new adventure.

Hi, This is Clodomiro Picado, he was a dctor Dr. Clodomiro’s research contributed to the development and innovation of biological sciences. In 1927 he published the results of research which demonstrated the inhibitory action of the fungal genus Penicillium sp. on the proliferation of the bacteria Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, which led to the development of penicillin. Although, the discovery of penicillin has been attributed to Alexander Fleming, Clorito's old laboratory notebooks from 1923, show records of the antibiosis of penicillium sp. His greatest internationally recognized achievements were for his studies of venomous snakes and his contribution to the development of various antivenom serums.
