After getting soaked and a bit saddle sore in San Cristobal we decided to hit the beautiful Carribbean coast early and await Gemma´s arrival...
Lucky for us we bumped into someone we met last year on holiday who kindly put us up in a really clean and comfortable hotel at a very discounted rate (hostel prices!)...and more importantly, in the heart of all the night life and fun...
With only 1 minute to the beautiful beach with white sand and light blue seas we managed to spend a good few days swimming and sunning, making the most of it all and getting excited about Gemma´s arrival!
Gemma arrived on the 13th June and we took her straight to the beach to enjoy an ice cold Chelada (beer with fresh lime, ice and salt around the rim - really refreshing!)
The weather has been superb and we have decided we have problems standing up for long periods of time. We have named this issue ´verticalitus´. The most excercise we have had is making it to the bar and back. We occasionally enjoy a nice lunch and cool off in the sea...
Don´t worry! We do realise it´s
time to move on, get some exercise and enjoy some culture. We are showing Gemma the ruins of Tulum tomorrow. These are conveniently on another, even more spectacular beach (bingo!). We can then ease our way into walking again gently!

Jealouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuussss!!
Hey Girls, Sounds like you're having a fab time - I loved San Cristobal - went to San Jaun Chomula and heard those poor chickens squaking for mercy!. Playa Del Carmen is beautiful too - am tempted to go back just for the diving sometime- what was the name of the hotel you stayed in ?? World Cup fever has taken over here - guess it's the same in Mexico - sun has been shining nearly every day so no cause for complaint - have a great time. Rose xx
