I'm in Avignon for the day. We're really staying in Marseille but its only an hour train ride. Evita came with me for a little bit but got quickly bored and ran through the castle,,,she took the train back to Marseille because she wanted to go to the beach so I'm here alone. She's not at all interested in art, architecture, or history so it's been a struggle. She doesn't have the stamina and is ready to crash by 10 every night.
Avignon is beautiful It's retained a lot of it's medieval flavor. The whole town is walled with winding streets that have their original names Street of butchers, flower street etc. It's hot here too. This is heart of Provence and the big things here are lavender and cicadas. Don't get the bug thing but I'll find out:
We go to Genoa tomorrow on the 3pm train....hello Italy
