Arrival

Hello Blog,

I made it alright to Belo. I was met at the airport by a whole family. There names are Silvestre (father and owner of the company I´ll be working for), Regina (mother), Carolina (daughter,25yrs has boyfriend) and Gustavo who will be here on monday (son, 22yrs).

I am actually staying at their home sharing a room with Gustavo. It is a really nice house, obviously upper class. The whole family works for TECTRAN, they do civil engineering consulting for transportation systems, ie roads etc. The family has hosted quite a few people from around the world all doing internships at this company so I can imagine they know what they´re doing.

Total travel time from door to door was 29 hours. Supprisingly I´m feeling not that tired but I´m sure I´ll crash tonight. I actually start work tomorrow at 8am so there is no rest for the travelling man.

So things are looking good. I´ll update you later on how the work is, Brazilian culture, etc... So until then, goodnight!

Hey Dan, We’ll have to get together for a beer or two upon your return. I’m chapfallen that the circumstances were not there for such an occasion prior to your departure. Have a great time. It's almost like you are expecting people to start saying you need to start maybe going after Carolina...so you stop people like me from the start by putting the 25 yrs has bf right there...However if you continued it for every girl you meet in your journal...it would quickly turn creepy...Still I acknowledge it and appreciate it...Go Leidl!
