Hi Everyone,

Sorry it has been so long in between updates, but since I've pretty much been just working, there's nothing exciting to report! My job at Montana's has been going well, and it's been a little hard going. I'm basically trimming the vines down to what they call canes which are the major branches that produce the fruit every year. I am then pruning, which is taking all the nubs off of the canes. I am then wrapping and tying down the canes onto the wires. It's a decent process and at times can take 10 minutes to do one plant. The mornings here are cold and my hat with ear flaps is presently being bidded on by a couple of the permanent workers at the vineyard. Seems they want it when I leave.
Today I booked my flight to Australia! I'm flying from Wellington (yeah yeah!!! I heart Welly!) to Brisbane on the East Coast on July the 4th. (I'm giving myself a week to sell the van, so everyone cross your fingers for me!) I'm so excited! I mean, it's really not that cold here, maybe a high of 13-15 when the Southerlies aren't blowing all the cold air up here. But still, I'm dreaming of sun, sand, and of course SCUBA!!!! I'm hopefully going to get on a live-aboard and do some intense Great Barrier Reef diving. I've planned on saying in OZ for 3 weeks, and then flying home, yes, I said flying home. Okay, don't everyone cheer (I know Dad is!) at once. I feel my time here is done at least for now, and I miss everyone terribly. I had a moment in the vineyard this week, where I was so homesick I wanted to jump on a plane right away. But it passed, and I started to belt out some Jimmy Buffett tunes to the pleasure/displeasure of some of my fellow workers.
So not much else is new, I'm going out tonight with a couple co-orkers to the First All Black rugby match of the season, so I'm sure it will be fun. I will really miss rugby I tell you, but nobody has yet to tell me who won the Stanley Cup!!!!!! You call yourselves Canadians!! *smile*
I think tomorrow is Father's Day. I'm not sure because I have 2 calenders saying different dates! It's not Father's Day down here, so I want to wish all fathers, including my Dad!!, a Happy Father's Day!
I'll update you as soon as I know what date I'm coming home, but I may leave it a surprise and magically show up on your doorstep for a visit, but not after gorging myself on Tim Horton's, Poutine, Street Meat, Sami's Souvlaki and of course, Ketchup chips.

Go Girl Go
No one's one the cup yet, it's still going on but it doesn't look good for Edmonton. Father's day is actually the 18th. Yeah! You might make it in time for camping on Labour Day Weekend!
