I smiled to myself when I heard the usual message (in greek) that comes over a megaphone at the same time each morning. First time I heard it, I thought it was best to confirm ... 'that's not some sort of air-raid warning or something is it?'. Our host looked at me and replied 'no, that is the fruit and veg man'.
Didn't do a lot today again. Alan headed into Fira to buy a 'gyros' (choice of meat, salad, tsatziki and chips on pita bread) for his lunch. Gyros are SO delicious, we have had to succumb to our cravings each and everyday. Aleena walked to Imerovigli to take in the scenery for one last time. We spent the remainder of the day lazing by the pool as again, it was a very hot day. (when driving through the mountains one day - 'looks like there is snow on the mountain tops ... it's summer here in Greece stupid, they are the white wash houses).

We will leave Santorini tonight for Athens.
It has been great to stop here for a week. There was no fear of our bags being slashed or snatched away from us. We felt safe to walk the streets late at night too. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful, the food has been delicious, and the scenery wonderful. Alan can now tick Santorini off his bucket list. We had a great time here.
