Hi everyone -

We are checking in from South Africa - Johannesburg to be exact. As I type we are sitting and relaxing at the gorgeous Africa Sky Guest House - toasting the start of our African adventure.

So far things have wildly exceeded all of our expectations! The flight - although long - was comfortable and went by rather quickly. A lot of movie watching, sleeping, eating, and drinking - and then we were here!

Much to my excitement our guide Pete does exist and was there waiting for us with a sign. I gave him a big hug out of sheer excitement!! Pete is as nice as can be and has taken care of every little detail so we don't have to worry or stress about a thing. And our ride... no van my friends - it's a mercedes SUV with leather seats - whooo hooo!

So for tonight we are resting at our guest house in Jo'burg. We will be going to get a light dinner shortly - mussel pots, soup, and salad. The people here are so nice and welcoming. And the place... just lovely! The weather is cool and crisp but not cold. Perfect really.

That's all for now. Tomorrow morning we leave for Zambia and Zimbabwe to explore Victoria Falls. We will check in from there.
