After breakfast we caught a ferry back to Salerno and then a train to Naples.

From Naples we caught the Eurostar to Rome. We sat ourselves in one of the carriages and fell asleep. We were woken by an inspector who informed us that we were in fact sitting in a first class carriage but had only purchased a second class ticket. We were asked to make our way down the train, luggage and all to second class. Whilst making our way down the train, we were stopped again by another officer who then asked us to take seat in the carriage we were in. Alan fell asleep at one of the tables and later said that it was 'a most uncomfortable trip and such a vast difference between classes' ... turned out we weren't in second class at all but the cafeteria!

Rome is extremely hot and we were told it is one of the hottest weeks they have had for a long time. After checking into 'Hotel Doria' we went to the Spanish Steps and then on to the Trevi Fountain where we were to meet the NZ trio.

Note: Cost 4 euros pp from Salerno to Naples.
Cost 36 Eros pp from Naples to Rome (cafeteria class).

HAPPY 25TH ANNIVERSARY
What a way to celebrate your 25th Wedding Anniversary. Hope your actual anniversary will find a quiet moment with each other without the NZ trio, otherwise I would hate to imagine the possible goings on (ha, ha, ha, just kidding). HAPPY ANNIVERSARY FOR TOMORROW. LOVE FROM BRIAN & AUDREYl
