What a long trip that was! We started out by getting on the 97 bus to the airport at 6:20 a.m. It was very convenient to walk down to the end of our driveway and be able to catch a bus! About 30 minutes before our 9 a.m. flight, an annoucement came on cancelling our flight with directions to report the the customer service counter. No problem, we were rebooked on the 10 a.m. flight. Our layover in Toronto was now reduced to three hours instead of four!

Once in Toronto, we discovered our flight to Tokyo was delayed 90 minutes for maintainence on the navigation system. We told them to take their time! However, this meant we would miss our connection in Tokyo to Bangkok. We were assured we would be taken care of, and we were. After an interminablly long 12 hour flight to Tokyo, with lots of turbulence, we arrived to find out we'd been booked on a United Airlines flight within the hour. We were actually disappointed because we were so tired of flying we wanted a rest in a hotel, which is what we would have received had their not been another flight.

So after another five and a half hours on the plane, we landed in Bangkok, and found our luggage safe and sound (we were expecting that to be delayed). The new adventure was about to begin: finding our way to the hostel without getting ripped off! We did alright. We followed our directions, catching the shuttle bus to the public bus station, except it was too late for our bus when we got there. Too bad! We walked across the street and found a taxi- an official one - metred and legit - and got a ride tot hostel.

Bed time! We were TIRED. No sooner had my head hit the pillow than my darling husband decided to wake up for the day (at 6:36). Did I mention we didn't get to bed until 1:30?

Today we are heading down to backpackers area to find a new place to stay for a few days.

Did I mention it's hot and muggy here? Gotta love Asia. It never fails to endure me.
