Day 1-2
The Flight! What can you say about a 20 hr day of travel? I guess all you can say is that we all survived and we made it to Milan.

Milan was great. We arrived to overcast skies and temps only in the low 80s. We first went to the Castle Sforza, a complex that was used for various purposes since the 1200s. We then took a nice city walk down to the Cathedral. The Milan Duomo is something else. It appears to have fairly recently been cleaned and the light pink marble looked stunning in the sun. The Milan cathedral is the 4th largest in Europe and it is giant. We took a long walk through all parts of the cathedral before heading back out. After a quick sandwich stop we walked through the galleria, a big shopping stretch near the cathedral. Then several of us went back to the cathedral and climbed the 250+ stairs to the top. Unlike a large tower that most cathedrals have, in this cathedral you just climb up on the roof. You walk among the buttresses and gargoyles and on the marble top of the building. It was very cool. To end our time in Milan we walked down and through the fashion district and walked past (but did not stop to buy anything) all the famous Italian designer shops.
We then got back on our lovely half full tour bus and made our way toward the Como region.

Day 3
Today we awoke to a cool, misty morning. Our hotel is in the top of the mountain between Lake Como and the next lake to the west. It is a very beautiful setting. We boarded the bus and drove down the mountain to Lake Como. The drive is quite the adventure twisting down the road that in many places is not much wider than our bus and has several switchback turns and blind corners that around ever one we are sure we are going to have a head-on crash. But we make it every time. For our morning entertainment we got a private boat tour of the lake. We cruised the lake for a bit over an hour and disembarked in the beautiful town of Bellagio. Bellagio is a small little village right where the lake splits into two. It has a bunch of hilly, cobbled walking paths and

narrow roads. We strolled around Bellagio, walking through the church, eating panini, pizza and plenty of gelato.
Next up was the city of Como. In Como we walked the old town, visited the cathedral and enjoyed some shopping and wandering.
On the way back to our hotel we stopped at the tiny lake side fishing village of Argegno. It is a great little city with narrow walking lanes and great little old houses. All in all it was a great first full day of our trip. Tomorrow we drive toward Venice via Verona. Till next time.......
