Today seems like a blur. I am rooted. We organised last night to get up early, pack the buses & leave as early as possible (in a relaxed like fashion) in an effort to finally get to a camp site before dark! Let’s just say that the only thing that seemed to go right (remembering I am not real happy right now) is that we got to camp around 2pm (I think).

The problem is that about five minutes after we got up it started raining. Packing in the rain is worse than unpacking in the dark by about 500-fold! We got the ferry with no dramas, back to the mainland, washed the trucks & headed to Maryborough for supplies. We got to Burrum River in the pouring rain thinking maybe we’ll just get a cabin as no doubt our sleeping gear is wet (on the roof – yes it was wet). Alas they had no cabins & they were such good folk that we wanted to keep the booking.

On the positive side there was an indoor kitchen, laundry & recreation area so Phil & I sent the cooks & kids off to play while we put up the tarps & tents in pouring rain. Eventually we achieved that & enjoyed tea in the rec area before drying some of our sleeping gear by the oven – probably not OH&S compliant but they can bite me!

Currently in the car with a XXXX Bitter or two, trying to find NIRS on the radio so I can listen to the AFL. So far I have only found 10 plus stations with NRL. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I’ll put some photos up shortly. Hopefully...
