Day 34: Iguazu Falls

Today we got a sleep in but all of us were so dirty after not showering for ages and had no clothes really left that were clean so got up early and showered shaved, washed hair, hand washed clothes and all felt soooo much better!! We even treated ourselves by straightening our hair with Rach’s communal hair straightener that made the cut while packing! 

We then all headed into town and bought some lunch for the day, changed some money and headed to the falls! And what an amazing day it was! We all paid 220 pasos to do the complete tour so boarded a 4x4 and had a tour through the jungle then got on a speedboat and got told we may get wet so were all in singlets and jean shorts mainly. Only a few of us being smart enough to wear bikinis! Live and learn live and learn! We started the boat ride which was fun and then got closer to the falls and all of a sudden literally went into the falls and got saturated!!! It was hilarious! We have some such funny videos of all of us screeched! This went on for about 20mins and then we got off the boat literally like we had had a long bath in our clothes We have like 5 more hours to wander around and look at all the spectacular falls dripping wet! It was not comfortable but just one of the most incredible places we have ever been to! I just can’t justify it with photos or words!!

We missed our train back and had to walk in wet shorts so made it back to the truck 1 hour late so everyone was hungry and waiting for us as we made our way to the supermarket for all of the groups to buy dinner when we got pulled over with some lady accusing us of scraping her car and denting it! Which we didn’t! There was a lil rubber mark which got rubbed off very easily with a lil bit of alcohol. Never the less we had to sit on the bus for 2 hours while Sstu had to sort paperwork etc! We were STARVING!!!! So by the time we made it to shopping and back to the camp site we at at like 10.30!! fantastic dinner – steak burgers!!! And neopolitan but better with a swirl of caramel also!!! So good! Cocktails to end what was such an awesome day!! Off to Brazil tomorrow! Can’t wait but wish we were spending longer in Argentina cos it is a wicked place and we haven’t got to see much of it unfortunately!
