Well im actually in Paris at the moment, the first city where i have actually felt like a foreigner. The past couple of days in London have flown by in a bit of a haze of jetlag and just general tiredness. After my first day half of which i spent wandering around by myself getting generally lost (i must have looked really lost because these random people asked me if i needed directions, which i did!) Anyways i eventually made it to the british museum which was good but would have been even better if i was a bit less exhausted. Then met up with lauren and proceeded to have a few drinks in the bar with some of the people we met in our dorm room, aussies of course. i must say i felt quite at home at the generator. Managed to stay awake till ten and i think i would have beaten the jet lag if i hadnt started drinking at midday the next day. We got talked into going to this thing called the church bar, a very antipoedean bar, drinks tied at the waist, sawdust on the floor etc, etc.... which wasnt really a foreign thing to do but awesome fun none the same.
Next day did quite a few of the touristy sites, The Tower of London, The Tower bridge, Westminster Abbey, The Globe theatre, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, The Clink Prison um... probably a few others i cant think of at the mo but il have some pictures up as soon as i can find an internet cafe i can use my USB cable in. Also met up with Mick, and went and had dinner and cocktails in Covent Garden with some friends of laurens.
grrr damn these stupid french keyboards!
So yes today had quite the full day even though didnt really see much, just figuring out how to get to Luton Airport (which involved the tube, train, shuttle and plane) and getting to our hotel in montemarte has done me in. however the day hasnt been totally wasted we went to the sacre cour which was absolutely breathtaking (after you got past the scary black dudes trying to tie string around your finger and remove it for a price and climbing about a thousand stairs) on the way back (mum you will love this) we saw Tom Williams (of dancing with the stars and the great outdoors fame) filming!!! and not only did we see him we also had a bit of a chat and a photo!!!! we were very excited. Anyways hope all is well in aussie land, keep the emails coming, i may not reply immediately but always love to hear from home.
