Here in the computer lab there are 7 computers available for us to use between 9.30am and 5.30pm. The rule goes that each person can sign up (reserve) for 30 minutes per day, if you want to use it more, you have to go and use it when it is not reserved.

So there's this dude. I'll call him Arnold, since he looks just as butt as our governor and talks in the same voice... Last week I noticed that computer #2 is extremely popular with the folks here, it is always reserved straight for like 3 hours in a row in the afternoons. Compared that with computer #5 or #6, which will have one or two reservations in the afternoon. Computer #2 is the preferred computer of many students. Hm. I wonder why.

I came up with the hypothesis that many students want that computer because it has some special software or super duper fast processing power. So of course I have to go try it out!

Ain't nothin special.

However, I came up with another hypothesis, when Arnold came into the room and said he had reserved that computer and wanted me off.

I checked the list, it was reserved but it was someone else's name. Hypothesis #2 was that Arnold has been writing in random names in to the reservation sheet but they are all him.

And today I saw him doing it! I saw him writing in 2 names, but they were not his names!

I just now spoke with the lady who runs the show here and tried in my bad German to explain to her that Arnold has been writing in names in the sign up sheet that are not his. And of course, as luck would have it, Arnold is right there behind me.

Fuck it. I know I'm more in the right to snitch than he is to hog the computer like that.

The lady understood what I was trying to say, but there is little she can do to prevent him from being an ass and she only can say that if she sees the lab busy and he has been there for a long time, she will ask him to leave. But she agreed with me, it is not fair.


And I hate it that everyone is nice to him, if only because he's built like a tank and we're all afraid he's gonna smash us.



So my gentle readers, if you don't see any more blog entries from me after this, it means Arnold has took his revenge!
