Third entry in one day...a record. Just a quick update on the rest of my day. Since I didn't get to bed until after three, I slept in to about 10:30, then hoofed it over to the Barnes and Noble on Fifth Avenue to have Rob Lowe sign his book for me, at 12:30. Yes, he is as gorgeous in person as he is on television and in the movies! And very sweet! I stood in line with a precious young woman with a sleeping 18 month old in a stroller, and was out of there by 1:30.

I decided to continue my hunt for the best cheesecake, as well as exploring Uptown a little, by taking the subway from Lexington up to 86th St. and walking around the Upper Eastside. I went first to a bakery called Two Little Red Hens and got a piece of cheesecake, a red velvet cupcake, and a Snickerdoodle cookie! Haven't tried any of it yet but looking forward to it! I walked up to 92nd and Madison to get another piece of recommended cheesecake but I guess they only have it sporadically, and didn't have it today, so they lose the contest. I took the subway back to my apartment, unloaded my book and goodies and headed over to the Heartland Brewery to have dinner with a friend.

Alan Tjeltveit is a psychologist with whom I worked at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis from 1984-1989, when he moved to Allentown, PA to become a professor at Muhlenberg College, where he continues to teach. He married an Episcopal priest and they have two children, and I last saw them when I did my month long driving trip. He road a bus for two and a half hours to come see me and I was very moved by that. We walked around Times Square, had dinner at the Heartland Brewery at 8th and 41st, and then walked around some more. I was excited to get a picture but the guy that took it turned out to be a worse photographer than I am. Thank you, Alan, for coming to see me!

Correction: I saw 19 movies at Tribeca within 11 days, and 20 movies total if you count the one at the regular theater!

I want to know the winner of the cheesecake contest so we can try it on our next trip. I am so glad you are having such a good time; our house will be boring after this!!!!
