Began Thursday morning signing the extension for my lease with my broker, Nomi! Woohoo!

Then I headed to Chelsea to be in the vicinity for my movies and to go to a shoe repair place I found online. The guy fixed my shoes while I waited and charged me five bucks! At Walter's in Rogers, it would have been $17 and a week, if they could find them!

I decided to walk down Greenwich Ave. and found a cute little shop; I think the name of it is "MXYPLYZYK." (At least that is what is on the bag and the front of the store.) Anyway...while there, the rains came. So I opened my trusty umbrella and took off again. Light rain at first, but I decided not to go too much further from the theater...then it started pouring and I kept walking, getting absolutely soaked. Now for my friends in Arkansas, I am not complaining, I want you to know...and I realize that what you have been through cannot compare to my little rain storm. I hope that all of you have managed to remain dry and unharmed. I having been keeping up with it some and my heart goes out to all those affected.

The highlight of this walk, before the rains came, was that on the corner of 8th Ave. and 14th St. on the border of Chelsea and Greenwich Village, two different people asked me for directions, within a minute of one another, and I knew the answer to both questions! I don't know why they asked me as no one else in NYC has highlighted short curly hair. Maybe that's why; they were afraid to ask a New Yorker. I was very proud!

I stopped at a place called "OMG Jeans" to get a change of clothes and the sales clerk thought I was in my forties. Then the popcorn girl at the movie told me she liked my hair! It was all too much for an old woman! So..I bought some new jeans and socks...I already had a second pair of shoes...and I went to change clothes at the theater, but didn't.

My first movie was at 3:00, "The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye." Wow. I had never heard of Industrial Music, have you? Google it. Very interesting documentary, "breaking new ground in its depiction of gender identity." Something about Pandrogeny...I don't even know what else to say. But Genesis P-Orridge, was there and taking questions, few of which I even understood. Obviously a genre with which I am totally unfamiliar! But fascinating and the movie was very enjoyable!

Came out to sunshine, subwayed home to change into dry clothes, subwayed back to see, at 6:45, "Donor Unknown," about several donor conceived young adults who find each other as siblings and look for their donor, #150, who turns out to be a hippie living in an RV on Venice Beach. Really interesting, award winning documentary.

Walked out at 8:30 and got right back in through a RUSH line to see "Renee" a documentary about Dr. Renee Richards, who as I'm sure you all know, is a successful Ophthalmologist and really good tennis player, who had a sex change operation and ended up competing as a woman in professional tennis. Again, just an excellent movie! Dr. Richards is in her 70's and is still practicing in NYC, doing the surgery that Emily has had on her eyes.

Speaking of Emily, she won second place in the Mock Trial competition last weekend, competing for the first time ever!! A very significant accomplishment of which I am very proud! And if anyone knows a good hit man, let me know. There's a certain FTW attorney...
