Hi all - thanks to all who sent in comments - much appreciated!

Well, we've rattled round Perth pretty fast in the last couple of days It was, of course, Anzac Day on Monday as we arrived (and hence they had Easter Monday yesterday - Tuesday) - but unfortunately we missed all the parades due to being zonked. Still, lots of jollity all round with the Navy in town and lots of blokes of all ages wandering around town with chests full of medals. They take it very seriously here - rightly so I guess. The weather was great and we took in a walking tour to check out the wide range of architecture - sorry still not cracked the picture loading business. Visited the Bell Tower with a peel of bells from St Martin's in the Fields, London. Great views from up the tower. Key fact about Perth - loves its mosaics! they're everywhere, and I've got some great pics.

Tuesday we headed to Fremantle by boat up the Swan River. Fab weather for an interesting and relaxing cruise albeit with a hopeless commentary. Fremantle - Freo to the locals - is a lovely, vibrant and relaxed town. It was still the long holiday weekend and they had a 5 day festival of street theatre - which we caught the end of - in particular a bonkers Argentinian Football juggler and risque raconteur, and a Scottish (well leather kilted Ozzie), yellow Mohican haired, biker booted bagpipe player - called BADPIPES. He did a rattling good take on AC/ DC's "It's a long way to the top - if you want to rock 'n' roll". The original features bagpipes !!! Check it out. Lunch was in an aircaft hanger sized shed called " Little Creatures" - it is actually a brewery and we found their Pale Ale to be brill... and the pizza was good too.

Back by train after an excellent Italian supper (more mosaics in the restaurant) which kept Steve happy and quiet....

Today we have tootled around town but, the weather turned last night, and today it's been pretty miserable and wet - albeit warm - so we're now trying to invoke this great service our travel agent promised us and hoping to transfer to Sydney sooner than planned (we were due to go on Saturday). This mornign we stumbled upon an exhibition at the museum - "AC/DC - The Australian Family Jewels". It was great - even Cathy sat and watch the concert footage (C: Actualy, I like a bit of heavy rock) .... so an AC/DC theme emerging here

No shopping to speak of (S: "What! I bought a hat - and a model guitar - very cool") - I've decided that, whilst Aboriginal art is great, it probably won't work in my house. Not to worry - plenty of time yet ... and must remember to bring the camera next time we blog!

Lots of stuff on TV about The Wedding - no surprises there, then, and SO RELIEVED (!) to hear we need not miss any of it 😊. Hope y'all enjoy it.

ps to Christine - not sure we're going to make Rottnest due to weather - pity.

pps to Andrew C - tips on BA dining appreciated!

pps to Mara - wait til you see these mosaics!

ppps to Veronica (and the dawg) - thanks for taking care of my toms

AC/DC
Thanks to Steve for introducing me to AC/DC, in Corfu, I think. Been a fan ever since, in fact I have a "Black Ice" poster on my study wall which I'm looking at now! (A bit of nerdy info which you may already know - I guess the bagpipes were because the Young brothers and Bon Scott were all born in Scotland! Glad you're having a great time! Dave & Stevie
