Well hello to all who read this,
Have been anchored here since last night, its 5 pm and nearly finished early sundowner. Our friends Brian and Debbie are only one bay behind us and we will both be sailing north again tomorrow, to possibly Yardie Creek or somewhere close to there. (Be glad to be moving on as we have been waiting, waiting)
The insects today have been persistent and varied, it seemed we were at and airfield and all these flying creatures wanted an air traffic controller. At one stage we had 30 little red bodied dragonfly on 1m of cord.( this is the first time we have had insects)
Warm enough to go swimming but the joint is full of red jelly fish, so not interested only baths on board today. Fishing boats from the campers buzzing about and have been listening to a V8 running around in the dunes.
Two nights ago we were anchored off the beach at Norwegian Bay and decided that we would like to stretch our legs and go for a walk along the beach. Well I must have married my cousin as we found out that
Sharon is also related to Russell Coight. Not only is she good looking and intelligent, she listened carefully to her relative when he explained the finer points of seamanship.
One foot in the dinghy and one on the boarding ladder not committed to either and with the swell the way it was. Needless to say Sharon was left hanging on to the ladder; with the dinghy half full of water and at ropes length from Summer Breeze, things could not have been going better.
With thoughts of Red Jellyfish at the forefront, tired arms and being bounced around by the swell I couldn’t understand her panic so kept the dinghy a little too close. I now know where the bruises are from.
We did make it to the beach and the walk was welcome, but oh the thought of the return trip. Hidden jellyfish in the seaweed, darkness rapidly approaching and why oh why such reluctance to just jump in the dinghy and go out to our home.
The bay where we are anchored reminds me of being on the waters of Port Philip Bay with all the lights on shore. There are campers everywhere. The beach
is just a line of lights.
Sharon and I have been getting on really well and Captain Bligh has not been found on board. Arguments have been absent maybe she enjoys being told what to do; its just she doesn’t like an audience.
Truth is life is great, good company and food in a relaxed environment, who knows where this could lead. I needed this.
Been out of range to send this lately, but Exmouth is just further north, then East, then South again, see not long.
For the trailer sailors this area is so accessible, Ali, Rick, Jill& Blu Gnaraloo is awesome if you don’t mind getting dirty on the way up and Coral Bay gives you access to so much area inside the reef, get up here.
Speak next time folks love you all.
Big hello to my Mali I miss you mate love Nana and Pop, how is the toilet training going????? xxxxxxx
