Yes I see the meat...Yes I see the meat...Yes I see the meat...

But I only ordered a Pepsi. Just one Pepsi. Does anyone here speak Ibizian?
You know the good thing about traveling in summer time? All the festivals you accidentally run into everywhere you go. With all the food, fun and spectacle. You know the bad thing about traveling in the summer time? All the festivals you accidentally run into everywhere you go. With all the crowds, no beds available, and speculating if you made a mistake leaving home in the first place.

But that passes and you remember that travel is never easy and rarely the same everywhere you go. Gotta love it.

So I was in Ibiza and there happen to be a medieval festival/holiday. Not exactly sure what they were celebrating, but everyone was dressed up and selling good in the streets. Plenty of live shows in all the public gathering places. There is a castle here with a bridge as an enterance. We sat and watched as a man, in a giant two-headed crow costume, came out of the castle to the plaza and did a dance with flares going off in its mouth. Wow. I thought to myself, we dont have anything like this back home. We need a two headed firery crow day in California. Im so jelous.
Recognize this anyone?Recognize this anyone?Recognize this anyone?

This is the look of a man who has lost his way.
It was similar to the Renaisance Fairs that go on back home. Except women here dont like it very much when you call them a ´wench´. Go figure.

I know what you´re all thinking. Ibiza is the party island of the Mediteranean right? I mean we have all seen Brooke Burk go there and show us all the outrageous clubs. Honestly. Can you guys stop thinking about partying for just one second. Cuz I can´t. Or wont, which ever is better. And, yes, Ibiza is hugely known for half naked people dancing all night in clubs that open around 3am. But there is a season for that. And it starts in late June or July. But the island is georgeous when it´s not over-run with college students on summer break. But it probably looks better then. But that is not when we were here. So get over it. Eventuall, we took up to seeing most of the island´s beaches and natural sights. More or less, relaxing from the hectic schedule of trains, plains, beers, food, dancing, busses, friends, etc. etc.

We had booked a few nights in a Hotel Maritimo, which by the way, will still come in

and clean your room even though you have the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. How nice of them. But then we were getting there a day early and so we had to book accomidations for the day before. Found a good deal online and booked one night in the Lux Mar. They have little apartments there, complete with living room and a kitchenette. Thank god we were only there for one day. It was way too nice. Maritimo was much better with its one smaller room and bathroom tub that you could not even sit in. Seriously. So if you go to Ibiza, take the room at the Lux Mar and count your blessings. I wish I had.

But I got to try some really good Tapas and finally had some Payella. The place we found was family run and I really liked it. But then again, when have I ever not liked a meal. Still, it was good.

I think I will make it back here later in the summer. I am curious to see what it is like when all the huge clubs are open. As it is now. You can´t get a decent

meal for dinner before 9pm. The places open for lunch then stop serving food around 3:30pm or close all together. They open back up around 9pm and are open very late. This can really mess up your eating habbits. But I am willing to make those sacrifices so that all of you can hear about different cultures. The things I do for you guys.
