Buonguorno!!! Well I am finally in Rome!!! and it is AMAZING!!! the flight wasn't too bad... an 1 and a half to Altanta, a 6 hour layover *which was probably the longest part!!, and a 9 hour and 28 plane ride to Italy!!! jet lag was horrible... but i am completely fine now!! we went from 4am sunday til 10pm monday night with no sleep. some people were lucky enough to get some sleep on the plane, but unfortunately i wasn't one of them!!! we took a walking tour thru Rome yesterday and saw the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, the Theater of Marcellus, and soooo many other unbelievable things! it is sooo wonderful to be here and to see another world than the one i know from home. it is all sooo different but i love it! everyone dresses nice and most are very friendly towards us. i have even had several opportunities to speak italian!! and it wasn't just the typical grazie and mi scusi... i actually asked for a small bathtowel at the front desk of our hotel!! and he understood me...it was awesome! i'm so glad i brought an italian dictionary! i'm staying in a room right behind the check-in desk, which is very convenient, and it's a 3 person room. both the other girls are so sweet and their both named sarah!! i am writing this on our break between classes, we just had josh's lecture about roman history and are about to hear dave's lecture. today we are going to see the Roman Forum close up and are possibly going to the Colloseum!! how cool is that??? i really really miss everyone from home, and it's very hard being away from them, but i am really trying to stay occupied and keep my mind on Italy!! i must go to class now but i will write again later!! i love you all and i miss you very much!!! Ciao, Alyson

Yay for You!
Hey sweetheart, I'm so glad you are enjoying yourself thus far! Congrats on the successful Italian! That's awesome. I bet you will be able to say all kinds of things when you get back. When you have been around for a couple of weeks, tell me what the best things to do and see are. Love you!
