Carolin, Lidia and I at Shoko for Carnaval Well I didn't exactly bring my camera everywhere but I do have a lot more pictures than last time. In Spain, the week before Lent starts, there is a celebration called Carnaval. Basically everyone dresses up in crazy, colorful costumes and there are parades and parties for a week straight. For one of the nights of Carnaval we went to Shoko, a club where my friend Susie is a promoter. The theme was superheroes but most people just wore whatever costumes they had. Lidia, Susie's sister, and I just wore masks, Susie was a clown. Shoko has makeup artists that give free makeovers so Lidia and I decided to do it. It turned out ok except for the girl who did Lidia's makeup got a little eye shadow happy. We had fun going back and forth between the floors playing popular music and funk/oldies. There were definitely some interesting costumes. The next night we were invited to go to another Carnaval party but I wasn't feeling well (allergies, seasons changing, etc) so I stayed in but Lidia went to La Riviera and had fun.
School has been going well but now that we are getting into the semester the projects

Susie as a clown and assignments have started to add up. Since it has been over three months since I have had to do homework I have been less than motivated to start working but as I do more I am getting back into the swing of things.
On Wednesdays, I have a 4 and a half hour break in between my classes so I am using it as a time to catch on reading. Once I finish reading Sense and Sensibility I plan on starting to try and read some easy level of books in Spanish to help me practice. But when I say easy level I mean like The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe or Harry Potter. It will take some time to work up to Don Quixote, 100 Years of Solitude and other great Spanish classics.
Last weekend we had a chill weekend where we caught up on sleep and homework. Carolin, Lidia and I went shopping on Friday but it was so cold and rainy I wasn't really in the shopping mood and I ended up only getting one tank top. But one of our friends, Elia, says she is going to take us to the outlets

Everyone soon. I can't wait for that!
On Sunday, we took another day trip with our school but this time we went to Segovia. It was supposed to rain the whole day so we were praying the whole time that the weather would be nice. Thankfully, it never rained, it was just cloudy most of the day with random moments of sunshine. We went to the palace of Segovia (where Isabella and Ferdinand lived) and el Catedral de Segovia. We also saw the aqueducts that Segovia is famous for. Then we had free time to eat, walk around and explore the city.
I have started to plan out some of the trips I am going to take while I am here and I am so excited. I have already booked a ticket to Paris in May to visit Nia, a friend from the States who is going to France to visit her sister. And sometime this week I am going to book my ticket to Barcelona, also in May, with Lidia and Carolin and maybe Aizza. I plan to go to Germany to visit my friends there sometime in June and also, if I can find time, a trip

After we had our make up done to Vienna. The question on everyone's mind now is what to do during our eleven day spring break (semana santa). I am still trying to figure out my plans so if you have suggestions let me know!
That is all for now but I will continue to take pictures and keep everyone updated about my adventures in Madrid.
Also, thanks for the comments! I promise I read them and I love getting them but I don't know how to answer them back individually.
