Church in Lucerne
That's an archangel stomping a demon. Badass. Alright. So it's been a couple of days.... with a ton of things to mention. If you read all of this I'll be impressed. But, if you feel the need, stay a while, and listen.
So I guess I should start with what we did on Monday. It was a chill morning, as in, I slept for pretty much all of it. It was a necessary rest after the amount of walking and lack of sleep we had over the weekend in Paris. Anyways, we sat down, had a little breakfast, figured out what to do with our day, as time was short. We ended up going to a small town called Lucerne. It was super nice, took some pictures that some people might get to see. We also met up with one of Sabrina's friends, which was quite, quite nice.
I know I forgot some things, which is most unfortunate, but I feel if I don't move to the past 2 days I might as well just start writing a book about my travels. It would make shmillions. It would probably be about a boy wizard who goes to a magical school. Brilliant.
Anyways, in Davos last
In Lucerne again
Super famous bridge in Lucern. Google it. night I decided to write out (on an envelope) exactly what happened, just so that I wouldn't forget. What I'm going to do now is quote the exact list. No alterations. Keep in mind we had just finished a day of riding and a beer or two. And this is my first read... no proofreads allowed on this blog. Proofread is just another word for Pansy. It is worth it to say that we booked our Hotel room at the Cresta Hotel at 11:30pm Monday night. For 150. This becomes relevant. Boom.
- Woke up this morning @ 5:30am (using my new swiss army knife)
- Hopped on our train to Zurich to transfer onto another train.... to transfer onto yet another train to get to Davos (took about 2.5 hours to get here) slept for most of it except the last leg.
- Arrive to the Cresta Hotel to find that we are not at that location, but instead have been moved to the "Hotel Cresta Sun" down the road. So we walk more. Check-in wasn't until 2pm so we had to leave our stuff in the lobby and go riding. And ride we did.
- One of the most amazing resorts I've ever been to. Runs were fairly easy and mostly tracked out but we found some stellar lines. The real beauty was in the surroundings. Like nothing I've ever seen before. Take a hike Whistler.
- Anywyas, went for lunch at the top, had shwienzschniztel which is pork schnizel, with a side of fries (and swiss mayo for those fries) and it was completely delicious. They also had some type of cheese dish but Stokes assured me that we were going to have that at home later this week.
- After lunch and a few more runs, we bombed down to the hotel to learn that the reason for the change in location was that we had been upgraded from the 3 star to the 4 star hotel. This room has a balcony, a full bathroom, super comfy bed, and complementary breakfast. Ding.
- Now we are going out to find a place I can take out money, then grab a bite to eat and do a little classic mountain boozin. Boom.
Phew. So you're pretty much up to date for Monday during the day. After I wrote that, we DID, in fact, bomb out. We found a couple of different places to have some beers, always looking for a really good place to eat. We ended up at an Italian Pizzaria and Ho.Ly.Shit. It was ridiculous how 1) busy and 2) good it was. Ridiculous.
Anyways, we had a few (I'll leave it there) beers at that place until we decided it was time to head back to the hotel room. Where we passed right out after hitting the pillow.
We woke up this
On the Hill
This was the view from one of the runs. morning.... I was feeling a little worse for wear at the beginning (lets just say... they serve beers here in half liter glasses... they trick you into thinking you're drinking less) but by the time I went for breakfast and had some bread, salami, and cheese, I was feeling much better. After checking out, it was time for another day of boardin - this time at a different location and again... it was unbelievable. This time we managed to actually find some pockets of the good stuff.
* As a side note, Chris, was getting onto the lift after probably the best run of the 2 days, and "Young Forever" came on. Of course, I instantly thought of Isengard and made a mental note.
After the day, we head back down to grab all our stuff and went for a late lunch before we trained to a different village where we met with Sabrina's cousin to drive us to our next location, her uncles birthday... where I was served beer before the one I was holding was done and "no" was not an answer. I was forced to slow it down because we all know how Europeans are...
Stokes and I
Top of the world. Ding. Beauties. After that, came back to the house where I am now. Ding.
I will be away for a few days again. Tomorrow we are going to Lucern again for a big parade and celebration, then there is some sort of party at Sabrina's cousins (a different one) house, then Friday going to the International Motor Show in Geneva before heading back to Zurich to celebrate his wife's birthday.... then Saturday we are going riding again at an unspecified location.
** Couple of things to add.
1) When we went out for beers. I there was a playable PS3 in the pub. Take a hike Big Buck Hunter 2.
2) Dad, there was a sign on the way up one of the T-Bars that said "N'est-ce pas bizarre que ce pilone se protege mieux que vous?". I know I'm asking for it, but I immediately thought of you when I saw that. I have a picture of it.
I better end it now. It's already a book. Catch you on the flipside.
