Late on Sunday, I of course attended mass at the nearby Vatican. This time there were much more people and it was a humbling experience to realize how people come from all over for one chance to see the pope and my roommates and I rolled out of bed 10 minutes prior. After Mass, we headed to the Spanish Steps, which is easily the most over rated attraction in all of Rome. It has been a fort night since, I have been in Rome and the days are already moving too quickly. The roommates at 46 Aurelia are bonding very well and have had many family dinners. Last night, we decided to step it up and eat out. As true college kids, we attempted to keep the price low and ordered the cheapest wine. As true AMERICAN college kids we were taken advantage of and given a bill of 142 euro. I guess side dishes, water and bread all have a large price tag on them. Well, it was a learning experience. As for the soccer update, another final tryout is planned for tonight. I plan on going to Naples this weekend and I will be sure to bring back some stories.
Love,
S
