Christmas break was great and taking care of a friends dog for a bit was fun too, another co-woker has a cat and she watched the dog for me for half the time 😊 The cat and dog loved each other, and fought a lot. I have included some pictures. Also we visited the bird nest olmpic stadium during a snow festival thing but accidently bought tickets that only allowed us to in and look at the snow festival, not play in the snow.... China loves doing that. I have two classes going right now at school, a first grade class with 12 kids, youngest is 7 and oldest is 10. I also have an intermidiate pre-k class going, the youngest is 3 and the oldest is maybe 5. In the first grade class we are reading and writing simple sentence and doing math; in the pre-k class we are focusing on vocabulary of body parts, family, foods, etc. I have another 1st grade class starting in a few weeks too, so three class total for a while. I really enjoyed teaching the 2nd graders but the parents prefer someone who is older, so I got out-voted for that position, I
am the youngest teacher 😞 But I think as time goes on I may be able to sneak in 😊

Wonderful photos!
I love seeing photos of you two, and the places you're going! We never got to see the Olympic structures, as we were there before they were built. Fabulous! I read your most recent entry - sounds familiar. There was a black American our school hired without seeing a photo of him, and when he finally arrived, they changed their minds! OMG. You're right, though, it's only a matter of time before you get "old" enough to get hired for that position. I'm sure the kids are loving you and that you're really good with them. Keep the posts coming! We miss you! Love, Colleen
