we thought this stuffed animal in the museum was so freakin awesome we took at photo of it.
Prague, Czech Republic 19-22 Dec.

Gin here. So after Dresden we decided not to park in campgrounds that didn't clear their driveways... so we were lucky when we turned up in Prague and the campground had been carefully cleared of snow. Who for, we're not sure, as we were the only campers there anyway, but it saved us a couple of hours of digging our way out.

Our first task in Prague was to find a hardware store, as Josh was so tough that he simply got out of bed one day and he broke the bed, which doubled as a table during the day. So now the camper has a brand new custom fit table. We also took the opportunity to fix the stairs that josh broke, and the fold out panels that josh broke, and to tell Josh that he isn't allowed to touch anything anymore.

So Prague is awesome, its really historical, and the first town that we hit that hadn't been decimated by the wars, so all the old stuff is actually still old, as oppose to stuff rebuilt to look old. There are lots of museums here, so we checked out the national

museum, the chocolate museum, the communist museum, and the sex museum. I also let Jacko and Renton loose at the Absinthe museum and bar, while I went home, and they came back with a collection of stuff "acquired" from the bar, and lots of photos they dont remember taking. They think they have tainted the name of Kiwi's in the Czech republic for years to come, but they can't quite remember, which isn't surprising judging by the state of them when they got back.

We also checked out the castle, churches, and the main square with its christmas markets. The cathedral was amazing, you could spend weeks in there looking at everything. There were 5 saints buried in the church, including King Wenceslas (you know, from the song) who was around in the 10th Century, and his crown jewels, which are priceless and hardly ever shown in public. We also saw a solid gold chest that held the relics of 5 saints, and lots and lots of tombs and chapels and statues, and other cool old stuff. Again, its so old you can't really comprehend it coming from NZ!

From here we thought it best to leave the

Europig safely in the campground, with the weather and temperature steadily declining, and we booked an overnight train for Christmas in Krakow, Poland. I'll leave Krakow for the next blog...
