I headed to the Cameron Highlands via the river this time, so had a nice leisurely 3 hour boat ride down stream, which was really nice and the surrounding jungle was stunning.

Cameron Highlands is home to trekking and tea plantations, so I ventured out on 3 days of trekking and trail one was the best, it was a little muddy, but I managed to avoid it by walking the tree roots as all I heard was people sinking in the mud. At the end of the trail you have to do a bit of tree climbing as it gets a little steep. Unfortunately when I reached the top the clouds had gathered so saw absolutely nothing. The only problem with trek one is that it finishes in no mans land. After walking a few km's a family stopped and asked if I wanted a ride as they were heading to all the same farms on the way. So headed to the tea plantations with rolling hills that looked beautiful and went to the butterfly farm. Sounds boring and it probably was, but their were some insects and reptiles to look at also. Then the strawberry farm which I only stayed for 20 seconds, was just the plants, I thought they might have something else, but no. Had a nice chat to the family that gave me a lift and it wasn't all that dangerous as everyone seems to hitch hike due to the trails ending so far away from any sort of public transport.

Cameron Highlands has a golf course and after finding it only cost 25 pound for unlimited golf and clubs I had to play. On my second round I managed to play with a Malaysian who was on holiday so had a nice chat. To Stuart's and Tolly's amusement I was truly terrible I was totally embarrassed as i'm supposed to play off 7 and he was off 12 and he played a hell of a lot better than me, i'm in serious need of lessons. It was a nice day and the course was ok, a bit wet under foot due to constant rain, but still a nice walk.

Cameron Highlands is a nice relaxing place, a lot cooler in the evenings and the scenery is spectacular. I recommend to anyone that likes walking!
