Things I have learned so far:

It is legal to check antlers when flying.

I am apparently VERY friendly.

Being very friendly gets you free stuff and rides from complete strangers.

And how do I know these things do you ask? Well, I don't quite know how I stumbled onto the fact that you could check antlers while flying but I saw it on the internet somewhere so that must mean that it's true. I realized I was very friendly and that friendliness comes with free things while waiting in the Atlanta airport at the Chili's bar. I sat down and ordered a margarita and the nice lady next to me had cheese dip and salsa laid in front of her at the same moment. She then proceeded to take approximately 4 bites and ask the bartender for a box and her check. Somehow one thing led to another and after about 30 seconds she had bequeathed her cheese dip and chips and salsa on me. Also, I have a $10 gift card to Chili's so the margarita was free too.

I finally boarded the plane to Los Angeles and sat next to a nice man who was a jet engine mechanic who races motorcycles and was on his way home. Not ten minutes into the flight he mentioned that the lady at the check in desk had given him free drink vouchers for singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer in line and did I want a drink? Well hell yeah I wanted a drink! After deplaning, or whatever it is you call it when you stand up for 20 minutes waiting for the damn door to open, I followed him to baggage claim as I was entirely lost. He offered to drive me to my hotel which I thought was very thoughtful. And then I remembered I was in LA and not the south and he might take me out to the desert and skin me or something so I politely declined. He got his bags and went on his merry way. And I waited. And waited. AND waited. AND WAITED. Apparently, Delta had put 5 or 6 bags from out flight onto the next one and they would be along "shortly". "Shortly" really meant an hour and half which put me at 2 AM and no food all day. You all know me well enough to know that sleepy and hungry do not make for a happy Joy. And now my friendliness was biting me in the ass because another passenger whose bag had been left as well decided to become my BFF while waiting. I tried desperately to get him to leave me alone but alas, being polite is too far ingrained in me to tell him to shut the hell up. I finally got my bag, got to the hotel, and crashed.
