Working at the bar

Working at the bar in Melbourne CBD. This is the most fun ive ever had at work - the people I worked with were awesome and so were the bosses

The Victoria Hotel, Brunswick. Built in 1929 and a typical style of building for Melbourne pub. Previous to this we stayed by the beach in St Kilda, Melbourne.

My Birthday and we were at the summit of this mountain on Wilsons Prom NP, Vic, by 10am. We slept in the car the night before near the beach in the background.

First Night on the Road...

This was the start of our long road trip, The Grampians, Vic. It was freezing! Australia is not hot all the time. In fact it is cold quite a lot of the time, especially in the south and especially during winter. The gent in the scarf is Martiel ('Marcel') - the French dude who I met working at the bar and who has been our travelling companion ever since.

The first morning of our road trip, The Grampians, Vic. We woke up early when we were on the road, normally first light. The landscapes are always more impressive at this time of the day.

Our kangeroo / rabbit impression, prompted by being forced to eat our raw vegetables at the roadside as we could not cross from Victoria into South Australia with any fruit or veg in the car due to fruit fly controls

South Australia. The most redneck pub I'd ever been to (until we got to Darwin). The landlord here was a hero and gave us free pizza and beers on the house. Pretty much in the middle of nowhere, or a few hours from Adelaide.

This was a beautiful beach near Albany where we camped. It was completely deserted except for a few kangeroo's. We built a big fire the night before and in this photo I have just woken Laura up to watch the sunrise (note she's still wearing her blanket)
Margaret RiverMargaret River
Margaret River

Probably my favourite place in Australia, Margaret River on the west coast, just south of Perth. The surf is world class, the beaches are beautiful and the landscape and coast is rugged. Theres great whites and whales in the sea (a surfer was taken by a great white while we were in Perth). Inland its all vineyards with free wine tastings

Freemantle is a town just South of Perth and has a really good atmosphere - theres a big market, a famous brewery on the harbour and there is lots of sunshine. Awesome.

...surely this can't be real....
..This is the bluest sea I've ever seen. You've even managed to catch it glistening. Lucky, lucky people. xxx
