Yesterday I saw my first kangaroo and not just the one, I saw at least 30+ wild grey kangaroos. I saw them hopping and everything. They are so cute, well the little ones are. I did see a massive kangaroo, I can see how they cause damage.
So today was my first day in central Sydney. I got the train into central Sydney train station. The trains over here are double deckers - pretty cool! The weather today wasn't very good. It has been raining for the last few days, so the sun hasn't been out fully yet - think i'm in for a shock when summer comes! I had a good walk around Sydney, starting in Darling Harbour. Darling harbour is quite a posh area with loads of expensive seafood shops. Saw some very interesting birds waddeling around. I then headed to The Rocks, which is really nice. I went to look at YHA hostel that we'll be staying in for Christmas and New Year - have to say, best looking hostel i've ever seen, looks more like a hotel! Think the girls and I will be having a lot of fun staying here. It was then time for some photo opts - Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. The opera house looked smaller than I expected and wasn't as white, but i'm guessing it will look different in the summer sun. Went for a nice walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens and saw this amazing tree which was the colur of lavender - I know it's sad to say this but I really liked the tree, my have to hug one soon : )
I didn't do too much exploring of Sydney, think i'll wait for the girls to join me, but there are loads i want to do in central Sydney and the surrounds.
I've been thinking about what my plans are and i'm thinking for staying with Uncle Dan untill the girl get here in Dec. I'm going to the shopping mall tomorrow to look for a job so hopefully i'll have some income soon. I'll leave the job in Dec when Shell and Lauren come over and then get a job in central Sydney. I have applied for a bank account and tax number and also bought a Aussie mobile today - so once I have a job i'll be all sorted!!!
Not much else for now, I'll blog again soon
x
