The Night Before

So this it is. This Little Chick is about to take flight. I have never felt more alive. It must be the pure adrenaline pumping through my veins. I am filled with complete joy at having the opportunity to live a dream I have held close to my heart for many years, yet it is also bitter sweet as I have said farewell to my wonderful family and friends over the past week. I will miss them dearly as they have shared every moment of the journey that has led up to this amazing adventure. It certainly wasn't an easy ride, but I am unbelievably stubborn and actually it has been a relief for me to put this strength into action. Sometimes I do exhaust myself, with my constant ideas and 'fidgeting' (as Len calls it) so I can't even imagine what it must be like to be my parents. I have never seen a limit on what could be achieved, I've always believed in reaching for the stars then if you fail you get to the moon. Only this time it's Brazil, which is much more appealing than the boring moon. I can't wait to get there and to meet Dani's family, if they are half as wonderful as her, I am in for a treat.

On a practical note, it is an absolute nighmare packing for travelling, and I don't think there has ever been a 'traveller' who has packed like I have. I have more dresses than Mariah Carey (I could do with an entourage, where are all the offers to carry my bag now, eh?), I filled the case to the brim, zipped it tight then realised I had left out my trainers and camera charger. I also need a slightly bigger butt as when I sit on my case it doesn't actually move, but kind of rebels and 'pings' me off. I think I will deal with this is the morning....
