She's learning!
After 5 hours and 22km a vodka soda just wasn't enough! Storms River is the touristy version of Natures Valley mixed with the flavour of NZ's Queenstown. For those interested in the worlds highest bridge bungy, sky diving, river rafting, scuba etc, this is your place! We prefer to stick to our normal routine of exploring, chilling, eating and drinking! Tube and Axe Back Packers is quite an awesome place and very condusive to all of our routine activities, even thru the day long power outages. The beer miraculously stays cold! Our tent, Maatian HQ is standing beautifully between banana and palm trees and next to the campfire. Because we'd done lots of hiking in NV we decided just to go for a leisurely stroll through the Tsitsikama National Park. Dressed in flip flops with minimal supplies of fruit and water and armed with a dodgy map and even dodgier directions from the guy running the place we set out. We made what we thought were the right turns at all the right land marks. We didn't get lost, but we didn't exactly know where we were. We abandoned the map and backtracked to the BP. Five hours and 22km later we were done. The guy didn't believe how far we'd gone

Hard to feel anything but relaxed here. (Before the walk!) until we showed him our photos! And the beer stays cold! Gluttons for punishment that we are, we got more advice from the dude and set out the next day on a snorkelling trip with Ben and Camilla. I put on my best saffa accent and managed to convince the warden to get us into the NP at local prices! (R20 instead R80) The snorkelling wasn't fantastic but we did see sharks, rays and all kinds of colourful fish. We also managed to organise a lift to our next spot, J Bay. Thumbs up to Storms River!
